My career as a personal trainer started in England in the early Eighties where I attended Camborne College in Cornwall, England, where I studied sports and nutrition. After college, The Youth Opportunities Commission sponsored me as I earned my Sports Nutrition and Weight training certifications while serving three years of practical (hands on) work at three different facilities in England.
In 1986, I moved from England to Los Angeles where I personally trained people at Gold's Gym in Santa Monica for two years. I then moved to Austin where I trained at HQ Fitness and later at Gold's Gym. I eventually wound up training at the Austin YMCA.
I left the YMCA to start my own personal training practice in Bastrop where I have been fortunate to train people both in their homes and at local area gyms.
